The collections shows the Narvik Campaign of 1940, and the town during 5 years of german occupation, 1940 – 1945. The museum shows the fighting at sea, on land and in the air, with the participating forces from many nations, British, French, Polisch, German and Norwegian. Through the French Foreign Legion most parts of the world were in fact represented. The situation of the sivil population and the many foreign POW’s is also presented. The objects exhibited are gifts or deposits from private persons, Norwegian insitutions or institutions abroad, and we are still receiving new objects regularly. |
